The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Superintendent to work on projects in various locations within Canada, The Superintendent will coordinate and direct the work of subcontractors and labourers. The Superintendent will run the day to day management of the construction site.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Maintain daily paperwork including field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates, etc.
  • Work with the project team and develop/refine the project schedule.
  • Ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properly executed by completing purchase orders, site instructions and change notices.
  • Ensure quality of subcontractor workmanship and building material.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties.
  • Train, develop, and supervise project team, complete project team performance reviews. Promote a positive work environment.
  • Implement safety program and monitor safety performance of the project team and subcontractors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • General Contracting experience as a Superintendent in Civil Construction required.
  • Direct field supervision of large Civil projects.
  • Trade background and/or Gold Seal Certification considered an asset.
  • Must be willing to travel.
