The Opportunity

Our client has enjoyed success as a result of hard work, ability to deliver on promises and a great reputation. They are looking to add a Technical Account Manager to the team, someone who shares these traits. This person will work from Calgary, calling in-field and at the corporate head office level to develop revenues from fluid management, surface rentals and other services. Reporting to the ownership group, this dynamic individual will be integral to the success of the next phase of growth.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Responsible for growing oil and gas services business in corporate Calgary.
  • Expand existing oil and gas client business, develop new accounts.
  • Cold-call, set up appointments and make presentations.
  • Develop relationships with water managers in-field and influence corporate decision makers.
  • Respond to RFP’s, assist in developing estimates, negotiation of contracts.
  • Initiate regular, accurate communications both with the client and with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop a sales plan, execute on KPI’s and manage the sales funnel.
  • Attend industry events, develop a network within oil and gas industry.
  • Develop municipal and construction business where it makes sense.
  • Work closely with internal managers to monitor quality of service.
  • Work closely with clients to ensure satisfaction and to manage change orders.
  • Make strong financial decisions while ‘in-field’.
  • Travel (approximately 40% in field, some overnight travel may be required).

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience selling oil and gas services or a related field.
  • Proven ability to grow sales territory.
  • Strong understanding of drilling and fracking process.
  • Must be a ‘door opener’.
  • Able to speak to in-field decision makers as well as in the C-suite.
  • Great communicator, previous experience giving high level presentations.
  • Highly driven, a natural ‘builder’ with strong ethics.
  • Business degree and/or technical certification an asset.
  • Good understanding of financial concepts.
  • Willing to work outside of normal office hours as needed.
  • Must have valid driving license and be entitled to work in Canada at present.
