Are you a Technical Engineering Manager with a multidiscipline background based in Fort McMurray?

The Opportunity

My client is seeking a Senior Engineer to manage and grow their Fort McMurray team. The Technical Engineering Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fort McMurray office and conduct business development activities within the region. The Technical Engineering Manager will work on capital projects and new construction projects, as well as provide technical support to their team.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Fort McMurray office and on site when required.
  • Conduct walkdowns to understand the scope of work.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and assist clients in commissioning and start-up if required.
  • Work with client’s maintenance and reliability team to assist in developing inspection and repair scope packages.
  • Assist in preparation of proposals for sustaining and capital projects.
  • Work on capital projects and new construction projects and provide technical support for equipment troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to the design, constructability, maintainability, operability, review and execution of projects.
  • Lead and mentor the Junior Engineer’s and Technologists and check over their deliverables to ensure quality and compliance is strongly maintained.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have extensive experience as a Senior Engineer or Technologist.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Technologist in Alberta.
  • 10+ years of experience in Oil&Gas/Industrial/Mining projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in either Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Mining, or Instrumentation and Controls.
  • Good knowledge base of other disciplines, such as: Mechanical, Piping, I&C, Electrical and C&S.
  • Strong business acumen and previous experience with Business Development.
  • Successful candidate should already be a Fort McMurray resident or willing to become a Fort McMurray resident.
