The Opportunity

Our 24/7/365 client is seeking a Trucking Operations Manager for their sand plant facility 50km north of Edmonton. The Trucking Operations Manager will be responsible for the trucks hauling 3 products from 3 sources to 10 destinations. The Trucking Operations Manager will be overseeing the dispatch team and the overall operations of the distribution centres and plants.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Manage personnel at 3 distribution centres and dispatch and scale personnel at 2 plants.
  • Improve logistics processes to increase simplicity and execution.
  • Control inventory stocking at all the distribution centres.
  • Forecast and monitor production and distribution inventories to schedule freight services to ensure high quality customer service and order fulfillment.
  • Build out a business line, taking product direct to customer sites.
  • Oversee subcontracted haulers, including their contract execution, site qualifications, etc.
  • Manage staff and third-party carriers to deal with mid-project changes in customers requirements.
  • Provide ongoing professional communication to different stakeholders (carriers, clients, and company staff) at various levels throughout organization.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Dispatching background is preferred.
  • Strong experience within the Frac/Sand industry.
  • Experience managing and operating plant and distribution centres.
  • Proven analytical background working in a logistics environment.
  • Maintain a high degree of attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
  • Capable of working in a multi-tasking work environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a focus of data analysis in excel.
