The Opportunity

Our client in the Yukon is seeking a Human Resources Consultant to join their team!

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships and awareness of the business challenges and objectives to drive a proactive approach to Human Resources.
  • Providing consultation and coaching on issues related to recruitment and selection, job evaluation, labour relations, compensation philosophy analysis, and performance management.
  • Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating personnel strategies including policies, programs and procedures to address the organization’s human resource requirements.
  • Ensuring accurate and consistent application of relevant legislation, collective agreements, terms and conditions of employment, policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and collaboration with your business unit to assist the Company in achieving its goals.
  • Manage projects or ongoing HR initiatives according to area of expertise, departmental and Company needs.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree with a major in human resources management or a related field of study.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or relevant professional designation in human resources would be an asset.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of progressively responsible human resources professional experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience working with collective agreements in a union organization.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment and labour legislation and government policies.
  • Intermediate to Advanced working level with MS Office.
  • Prefer experience working in a highly automated HR environment with integrated enterprise HR and payroll information system.
  • Knowledge of Canada’s North, its unique history, geography and cultural diversity with an ability to relate effectively to customers from varying social, economic and cultural backgrounds will be considered an asset
