The Opportunity

Your focus will be on the mining industry with exposure to pulp and paper and other industrial applications.This an integral role to the success of the company’s market penetration strategy in BC. You will have the responsibility of developing new, and penetrating existing relationships, understanding their needs and strategies, resulting your solutions with the focus on client service, and technical excellence. Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Develop and execute winning territorial plans, set aggressive targets, and drive new growth and opportunity across both existing and new end user with a focus on the Mines.
  • Assist in profitably, meeting customer needs by being a responsive liaison between with your client, on matters relating to new pumping units and/or packages, upgrades, repairs and spare parts.
  • Manage the proposal process and develop strategies to ensure we make the most competitive technical solution.
  • Deepen relationships with the client, at multiple levels, by continually networking and building relationships, who cultivates, and becoming is a trusted advisor to those in the Mining Community.
  • Submittal of weekly, quarterly and yearly planning and reporting by utilizing CRM and other internal tools to communicate sales and financial objectives and accomplishments with the management.
  • Actively participate in and provide input into the product development teams and support their initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with plant, engineering, customer service, and other personnel to ensure client objectives are achieved with excellence.
  • Partnering with clients to provide guidance, advice and training to reduce costs and improve reliability.
  • Provide training or coordination of training, recommendations and presentation of new products.
  • Work with the worldwide engineering team in trouble shooting, product applications/selection solutions and quotations.
  • Follow-up on, and support the project through departmental process; Engineering, Purchasing, Assembly, Manufacturing, service, parts and replacement to ensure delivery and quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven track record of a minimum of 5 years of Applications, Engineering and/or Sales, in rotating equipment, pumps, mechanical seals, or similar disciplines.
  • A successful sales career of at least 3 years selling to the mining community in BC.
  • Proven, self-motivated, entrepreneurial, pump sales professional with a hunter mentality
  • Proven contact with decision makers in the mining industries in BC.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma would be an asset.
  • Must have well developed exposure or experience in the Mines and at EPCs solving technical issues in BC.
  • Demonstrated ability to read detailed drawings and technical documents.
  • Driven by customer service excellence, goal-oriented with an infectious positive attitude.
  • Evolved interpersonal skills; verbal, written and listening.
  • Must be able to be a team player with exceptional relationship building skills with both external and internal partners.
  • A proactive self-starter with a hands-on approach to solving problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

Compensation and Benefits

  • Total estimated 1st year total compensation on $135,000 or more, with expectation of commission growth steadily beyond the 1st year
  • Aggressive uncapped commission paid monthly
  • Base salary of $75k-$85k or more, commensurate with experience
  • Vehicle allowance, with technology provided and expenses paid
  • Great medical and benefits plan, with a health spending account, including an matching retirement plan, fitness club supplement and other bells and whistles
