Opportunity for an Account Manager – Chemical Products – Petroleum Industry

The Opportunity

Bringing new and customized solutions to producers in various industries. Our client is a national provider of innovative solutions based in chemistry. There is an immediate opening for a technical Account Manager to be based in Calgary. Calling on Petroleum clients primarily, this individual will have a solid understanding of chemical products and applications. This is a dynamic and creative company that has carved out a place for itself in the competitive oil and gas chemical supplier subset by being creative, aggressive and reactive to client needs. Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Grow territory through expanding business with existing clients and building relationships with new prospective buyers.
  • Initiate new projects and develop new solutions with customers.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations.
  • Conduct on-site product trials.
  • Record activities and move opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Use CRM system to organized activities.
  • Regular research and networking within industry.
  • Send out quotes, arrange for sample delivery, respond to customer inquiries.
  • Prepare sales plan and updates, provide forecasts, submit proposals to ownership/management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • University or College Degree (Chemistry/Chemical Engineering) or Business Admin coupled with relevant experience.
  • 5 years of experience selling within the industry, preferably in the same product area.
  • Self-motivated, willing to cold-call for new business.
  • Very strong Microsoft Office suite skills.
  • Clean Driving Record, willingness to travel locally and within North America on occasion.
  • Proven sales success, previous negotiation experience.
  • Bilingual (FR/ENG) is an asset.
  • Currently entitled to work in Canada.
