The Opportunity

Our client is a world leader in commercial flooring. A Technical Sales Advisor is needed to manage the Southern Alberta/S.E. British Columbia region. Business-builder, Project Manager, Account Executive and Product experts needed in the same person. If that is you, then please apply today!
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Manage existing clients within Calgary, Southern Alberta and SE British Columbia.
  • Develop new business by cold calling and developing a network amongst general contractors, architects, end-users, etc.
  • Travel to visit sites, provide input regarding installation and maintenance of floors.
  • Attend trade shows and industry events.
  • Provide forecasts, territory management plans, update CRM.
  • Prepare RFP’s as needed.
  • Full cycle business management – find the work (hunt it), oversee the project (cook it) and cover off everything else (clean the dishes).
  • Provide after sales support.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3 years min. experience managing accounts/territory in the building materials industry.
  • Previous project management experience is an asset.
  • Preference will be given to post-secondary graduates in business or architectural/design disciplines.
  • Proven ability to cold-call and source new business (70% of time is spent here).
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction delivery methods.
  • Excellent follow-up skills, ability to work effectively without supervision.
  • Able to work in a home office environment.
  • Very strong account management skills.
  • Comfortable with M/S Office suite, previous experience working with a CRM system.
  • Technical flooring knowledge, understanding of specifications and previous RFP application and bidding experience.
  • Willing to travel extensively as needed (company vehicle is supplied).
  • Able to travel to the U.S. if needed.
  • Currently entitled to work in Canada.
