Technical Sales Representative: Are you a pace setter in the pump / HVAC Automation industry, do you have what it takes to work with the best?

The Opportunity
Our client is a leader in Building Automation and Pumps. They have a great product line, strong technical support and a great management. As the Technical Sales Representative you will be responsible for full cycle sales in Edmonton and Northern Alberta, with a special focus on the implementation new and exciting strategies and customer focus. Then your timing could not be better, as they enter into a new growth phase. 

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Develop relationships with contactors, property managers, owners, end users and EPCs
  • Identify sales opportunities, position to become a preferred bidder, to be specified, bid, and close commodity sales and project sales
  • Grow the Edmonton and Northern Alberta regions
  • Coordinates sales activity and communicate upcoming opportunities
  • Internal follow-up on project progression and product delivery, ensuring client project quality delivery
  • On going project progress communication with consulting engineers, contractors and owners.
  • Assist in goal setting and achievement initiatives.
  • Produce bi-weekly market activity reports as well as Daily/quarterly and yearly reports as directed
  • Be a technical resource for clients including; Lunch and Learns, Tradeshow, technical support and client issues (warrantee, technical, delivery)

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years successfully Selling into the Building Mechanicals industry, technical products, systems and service solution, such as, HVAC systems, Pump and/or Automation, etc.
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven relationship builder, negotiator with a track record of closing deals
  • Able to use Microsoft suite comfortably
  • Self starter the ability to work independently, within a dynamic team

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary will be $80,000 – $100,000, potentially more
  • Plus commissions $10k-$30k a year or more
  • Comprehensive benefit package, Group RRSP, Vehicle allowance, etc.
  • Home office set-up.
