Our client is a respected builder of Commercial Modular complexes. They are entering a busy period of growth and need an experienced professional to join the team at their manufacturing ‘Center of Excellence’ in the interior of British Columbia. Reporting to the Vice-President of Production, this pivotal team leader will be the responsible for managing expanded operations, ongoing continuous improvement initiatives and managing production budgets and scheduling while maintaining an excellent record of safety at the location.
Responsibilities and Functions

  • Develop and implement support systems and business processes
  • Oversee capital and maintenance spending
  • Financial planning, cost controls and analysis
  • Manage and develop direct reporting staff with overall responsibility for production personnel
  • Implement new technology and equipment, develop overall strategic direction to manage growth
  • Implementation of LEAN methodology and philosophy into everyday operations
  • Reduce bottlenecks in production lines, create sub-assembly lines as needed
  • Monitor and measure critical KPI’s and develop plans to improve in key areas
  • Liaise with other departmental managers
  • Forecasting, resource planning and scheduling
  • Regular reporting to executive level
  • Regular interaction with clients

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing in a manufacturing environment
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree (Engineering, Commerce preferred)
  • Experience in writing policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience in change implementation
  • Ability to understand and analyse financial statements
  • Formal process improvement accreditation (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
  • Must be willing to relocate to Kamloops, B.C.
